Ezra JEWneration program and Europe-Israel trip

Have you been dying to go to Israel? Want to learn more about the Jewish History and Jewish tradition from the source? Want to do it in an open and liberating environment? Always wanted to visit Europe and see what the Jewish community is like there? Want to learn about the Holocaust and Jewish leadership?

Get ready for our extra-ordinary program and once-in-a-lifetime experience! Ezra JEWneration program is a sophisticated, mature, and in-depth look into Judaism's view of the world and humanity, leadership skills, and a Holocaust study. It includes 10 weekly sessions, two shabbatons and a trip to Europe and Israel.

Start the trip by touring in Europe, visiting multiple cities and towns with a rich Jewish history, learning about what used to be and what's left after WWII. During this part of the trip you will learn and experience places and stories that will change your life forever. See and hear about the Holocaust with your own eyes and ears. After a few days in Europe the group will travel to Israel.

Once in Israel, you will learn about the revival of the Jewish nation. We will explore Israel and learn about the history of Israel and its people. In addition to touring you will be offered to take part in a short series of fascinating classes which will make the connection between the land of Israel and the Jewish classical texts. Meet new people, learn about your people and about yourself, and have an experience of a lifetime!

On May 8, 2010, the sixty-six anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe, Ezra USA@Boston, a Jewish youth organization based in Brighton, MA, will honor local Russian veterans for their effort and sacrifice in the fight against the Nazi regime. As part of Ezra’s Veteran Appreciation Project, the organization’s members will visit Russian veterans living in Boston area to personally thank them for their noble service during WWII. Each veteran will receive a gift package prepared by Ezra members, and the packages will include certificates acknowledging the past courage and selflessness of these individuals.

With fewer and fewer Russian veterans of World War II remaining, it is essential that we honor them now and keep the memory of their experiences alive. The Veteran Appreciation Project is an opportunity to do both, as it will honor veterans for the bravery they exhibited throughout the war while simultaneously exposing the program’s participants to veterans’ stories, enabling them to live on. Bringing together two separate generations will also serve to reinforce unity – a cause whose importance cannot be understated.

The Veteran Appreciation Project is just one of the many community outreach and educational initiatives run by Ezra USA. A primarily Russian-speaking Jewish youth movement with chapters in a number of US cities including New York, Ezra USA is dedicated to strengthening the Jewish identity of young Russian-speaking Jews in America. The organization serves about 7,000 Russian and non-Russian Jews in their teens, 20’s and 30’s. Ezra USA‘s central mission is to ensure the continuation of the Jewish people through the teaching of Jewish values and leadership development in the Russian-Jewish community.

We hope you will support Ezra in this important endeavor. The organization is currently accepting donations, 100% of which will go toward the purchase of gifts for the veterans.
